News Briefs: NIPSTA open house

Visitors to Public Safety Awareness Day can get an up-close look at fire, police and public works professionals with the tools of their trades. The event, sponsored by the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the academy's 20-acre training facility for emergency response personnel at 2300 Patriot Boulevard, Glenview.
